The Chicago Blackhawks held a ceremony on Thursday with Hockey Hall of Famer Marian Hossa, allowing him to sign a one-day contract to retire as a member of the organization.

During Thursday's game against the Seattle Kraken, the Blackhawks announced that they will retire Hossa's #81 next season.

Hossa, 43, spent the final eight years of his career with the Chicago Blackhawks, winning three Stanley Cups (2010, 2013, 2015). In 534 regular season games with the Blackhawks, Hossa tallied 415 points (186 goals, 229 assists), 170 penalty minutes, and was a +133.

Congratulations to Marian on this well deserved honour!
