During TNT's broadcast of the Islanders/Lightning game on Sunday afternoon, former NHLer Paul Bissonnette decided to roast the Washington Capitals, saying they won't even get out of the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

The TNT panel was discussing how many teams out of the Eastern Conference were capable of winning the Stanley Cup, with most of them agreeing on six teams, Bissonnette says seven.

"I say seven. I still think the Leafs look good. I mean, I know they lost to Montreal last night, but they outshot them 2-1." Biz said.

He was then asked who the one team in the East, who will make the playoffs, won't have a shot at winning the Stanley Cup.

"Listen, Washington fans have been losing it on me online. Go bet your mortgages on the fact that they'll even get out of the first round and then we'll have a, send it to me in a tweet, and then we'll have a conversation. Washington is not a threat. Sorry. All other seven teams are." He added.

The Capitals currently occupy the second wild card spot in the Eastern Conference and have a record of 37-20-10 through 67 games this season.

Bissonnette may have a point. When you look at the Eastern Conference, every team, for the most part, went out and added a piece that will help them down the stretch and hopefully towards a Stanley Cup championship. The Bruins got Hampus Lindholm, the Lightning got Brandon Hagel, the Panthers got Claude Giroux, the Maple Leafs got Mark Giordano, the Penguins got Rickard Rakell, the Rangers got Andrew Copp, and the Hurricanes got Max Domi. Some of those teams even added multiple pieces.

What did the Washington Capitals do? Not a whole lot. The only real trade of any significance they made was bringing in Marcus Johansson. They didn't address their questionable goaltending, which may cause them issues in the first round of the playoffs, which if started today, they would face the Florida Panthers.
