Edmonton Oilers screwed over by celebrity rapper Snoop Dogg

The Edmonton Oilers were forced to practice on their alternate ice today as Snoop dog has a concert at Rodgers Place tonight.

Game six of the Stanley Cup final between the Oilers and Panthers will kick off tomorrow at 5:20 Mountain Time. The Oilers are looking to force a game seven after going down 3-0 in the series for the first time in nearly 80 years in Stanley Cup finals history. The game likely would have been tonight if Rodgers Place hadn't already been booked for a Snoop Dog concert.

This is perhaps one of the wildest reasons a team had to abandon their typical practice routine, especially considering we are in the middle of the finals. That being said, there is nothing the team can do about it now.

This was not the only big news to come from the Oilers today. Power forward Evander Kane was spotted participating in practice this morning. Kane has not played since game two of the finals. However, he was practicing with the extras today, so it seems that there is still a good chance he will not play game six.

He appears to be skating on the fifth line with Gagner & Carrick.

Will get an update from Kris Knoblauch this morning. #Oilers

Head coach Kris Knoblauch refused to give a straight answer about Kane's availability after practice. This is not surprising given the level of gamesmanship we expect from the coaches in the Stanley Cup finals. As such, we will just have to wait for warmups tomorrow night to see if Kane returns to the lineup.

Kris Knoblauch on Evander Kane's status for Game 6: «We have possibilities.»

Can the Oilers force a game seven? Could they become only the second team in NHL history to pull off a reverse sweep in the Stanley Cup finals? Be sure to tune in tomorrow to find out.
