CrossFit athlete Lazar Dukic was competing in a competition and vanished under the water near the finish line. His body has been recovered and he sadly died.

Lazar Dukic was 28 years old, and was nearly at the finish line of a live-streamed 800-meter swim at the CrossFit Games in Fort Worth's Marine Creek Lake today at around 8 a.m. when something went terribly wrong and he disappeared under the water.
A search was immediately underway to look for Dukic, and unfortunately roughly two hours after he disappeared, First Responders pulled a body out from the lake. The CrossFit Games did confirm shortly after this development that an athlete had died.

«We are fully cooperating with authorities and doing everything we can to support the family at this time.»

The rest of the day's entire event schedule was suspended until the investigation is concluded.
Dukic was from Serbia, and he has been competing in the CrossFit Games for many years, so this type of competition was nothing new for him, so what a tragedy this has turned out to be.
Dukic is ranked third in his country of Serbia, and holds the 88th position for world male ranking. He posted on his Instagram last night for fans to tune in to the event the following morning. What a sad final post he made.
Seven different firefighter units ended up responding and helping with the search for the possible drowning this morning, and 10,000 people from around the world were there witnessing this event, that sadly had to come to a halt.
We wish Dukic's family and friends our deepest condolences during this very tough period.
