In major news, Corey Perry's potential signing in Edmonton could lead to a blockbuster trade involving this Edmonton Oiler player.

Insider Reveals that Perry's Deal In Edmonton Could Lead to Blockbuster Trade

All signs are pointing to the Edmonton Oilers signing Corey Perry to a deal with a pretty heavy discount compared to what he had previously gotten before his termination with the Chicago Blackhawks. Since the Oilers are expected to get such a fantastic deal, one they weren't accounting for before, there is now a new opportunity for them.

According to Frank Seravalli, since the Oilers are getting Perry and Holloway on such good deals, they may now be able to trade away Jack Campbell.

«I think getting those two pieces for free (Holloway & Perry)..changes the total outlook of their deadline..I think it opens up the door for them to move Campbell.»

Campbell has been on the trade block since the beginning of the year for the Oilers and hasn't been able to work his way back into the roster. It was previously thought that the Oilers wouldn't be able to afford to move him since it would require a sweetener, but now it is looking different.

Three Teams Pursuing Perry But Oilers Leading the Way

Despite Perry seemingly disappearing after his termination, there was pretty significant interest among several teams in trying to acquire him once the greenlight was given by the League. Among the teams included the Tampa Bay Lightning, Florida Panthers, and New York Islanders.

We will see what deal Perry actually does sign as the details get released, and if that means the Oilers are free to make a big move.
