The Nashville Predators have been dealt a blow to their defensive core with one of their key players now out long-term.

Preds Lose Top D-Man Long Term

The Nashville Predators have announced that D Luke Schenn will be out 4-6 weeks with a lower-body injury, according to the team.

Schenn has missed Nashville's past 3 games after appearing in the Predators season debut vs Tampa Bay, his only game played this season. The current timeline provided means Schenn will be expected to return to the lineup sometime later in November or in December. The cause of his injury was not announced.

After returning to the Toronto Maple Leafs, who selected the defenseman 5th Overall in 2008 in a trade from the Vancouver Canucks, Schenn signed a three-year, $8.25M contract with the Nashville Predators in Free Agency.

In 70 Games for Vancouver and Toronto in 2022-23, Schenn had 4 Goals and 22 Points, with 1 Point in 15 Ganes for the Maple Leafs, as well as suiting up in 11 Playoff games for Toronto.
