This past week, Edmonton Oilers general manager Ken Holland chose to fire head coach Dave Tippett as a result of the team falling in a massive rut after a hot start to the season.

Throughout his lengthy time in the league, Tippett has been regarded by most as a very good head coach. However, it appears he lost the locker room in Edmonton, and comments from Oilers forward Warren Foegele after a win on Monday night seem to help prove that theory.

«With Woody here, there is a huge amount of direction and detail and it makes a huge difference when everyone knows what we are doing,» Foegele said.

Though Foegele is only in his first season with the Oilers, these comments seem to suggest he was not a fan of Tippett during their short time together. Perhaps their new bench boss in Jay Woodcroft will get this group to play up to their potential and get back into the playoff picture.
