It's not the news fans of the Vancouver Canucks were wanting to hear. On Sunday, head coach Bruce Boudreau told reporters that he doesn't expect forward Brandon Sutter to return to the Canucks line-up this season.

Sutter, 32, tested positive for COVID-19 during the Canucks' massive outbreak back in April 2021. Since then, Sutter has been suffering from long-term COVID-19 symptoms and hasn't played at all for Vancouver this season.

"It worries me whenever anybody gets it, especially when you have a son who has gone through it," said Brandon's father Brent back in December. "Seeing what he had to go through, that was a tough thing."

The Huntington, NY native appeared in 43 games for the Canucks last season, recording twelve points (nine goals, three assists), along with a strong faceoff win percentage (55.5%).
