The Edmonton Oilers have had an interesting season to say the least. After starting out as one of the hottest teams in the league, they cooled off and ended up firing head coach Dave Tippett and replacing him with Jay Woodcroft. This means that newly acquired Edmonton Oilers forward Evander Kane has had two different coaches in a matter of six games with the team. Of course, Kane had something to say about the situation.

"Unfortunately I've been a part of teams with a lot of coaching changes as well," said Kane. "It's really more just a different voice, I think you've played different systems throughout your career and they are usually pretty straight forward in getting you acclimated with them."

Kane then was asked about how many times he had to deal with coaching changes with the Buffalo Sabres alone, and he found it slightly comical.

"I don't know...uhhhh 3?," he said with a laugh.

Sometimes a different voice is what a team needs to get out of a slump, and maybe that's just what the Oilers needed.

"I think initially that new voice can really bring a spark, I think some tactical things too," admitted Kane. "You know when a team is maybe not playing as well as they should, or capable of, I think some of those new tactics it just gives you a fresh look and kinda refreshes your mind as a player.»

As with any head coaching change, the situation has been a little bit crazy, but it doesn't help that Kane has also been trying to get used to his life in Edmonton.

"Yeah I'm just trying to move into my house while I'm on the road," said Kane with a laugh. "Like I said it's been obviously a quick turnaround, it's been great though so far and I expect that to continue."

Kane knows that he is not where he would have been if he started playing at the beginning of the season, but this doesn't mean that he is not trying to get back to that point.

"No, no I think it's pretty evident I'm not," said Kane. "I'm working towards getting there and hopefully in the next handful of games I can come out here and tell you that."
