San Jose Sharks forward Tomas Hertl faces an important decision to make over the coming weeks. With the team sitting sixth in the Pacific Division and the odds of making the playoffs becoming less and less each day, does he want to move on to a contender or remain a San Jose Shark?

The Prague (Czech Republic) native is in the final year of his contract and has a modified no-trade clause which includes a three team no-trade list. Hertl and the Sharks are reportedly discussing an extension but when talking to the media on Saturday afternoon, he didn't sound too confident about remaining in the Bay Area long-term.

"I'm not like saying anything 100% because nothing is ever 100%. I just say this is my team now when I'm playing & I'm doing all I can. We'll see what happens in 4 weeks, or rest of year. I want to just focus on playing," Hertl said.

He added, "If we make a deal here, it will be fair for both sides. This is still my home and (I'm) fighting, (giving) everything I got for this team and we will see what happens in a couple of weeks."

The 28-year-old has been on of the best forwards on the Sharks roster this season, only trailing Timo Meier in points, while leading the team in goals with 22.

With the NHL's trade deadline nearly five weeks away, teams will certainly the calling the Sharks to check on the price to acquire Hertl. Boston, the New York Rangers and Pittsburgh could all be possible fits for the Czech forward.
