Once again, the Colorado Avalanche are a contender for the Stanley Cup, but the team has had a real issue with trying to get past the second round of the playoffs. The last three seasons, Colorado has lost to San Jose, Dallas and Vegas in the second round of the playoffs. In order to get over the hump, they'll need to make some key additions at the deadline.

Although Darcy Kuemper has been solid in net for the Avalanche, they may be looking a goaltender leading up to the deadline. According to TSN's Chris Johnston, the Avalanche have shown interest in Chicago Blackhawks netminder Marc-Andre Fleury.

Along with looking for a goaltender, the Avalanche are also keeping their eye on the forward market ahead of March 21st's deadline. One name that they've been linked to and shown interest in is Philadelphia Flyers captain Claude Giroux, who's set to become an unrestricted free agent in the summer.

Johnston added that it would be hard to see Avalanche general manager Joe Sakic being able to add both Fleury and Giroux based on their cap hits and with the team only have just shy of $300,000 in cap space.

In 34 games this season, Fleury has a record of 15-16-3 with a 2.88 G.A.A., a .910 save percentage and three shutouts.
