As they said on their Twitter account, the 'Big Rig' is here to stay. The Tampa Bay Lightning announced on Tuesday that they've agreed to terms on a two-year contract extension worth $2 million ($1 million AAV) with veteran forward Pat Maroon.

Maroon, 33, joined the Lightning as a free agent prior to the 2019-20 season and has helped them win back-to-back Stanley Cups, including three in a row for himself (St. Louis - 2019). Since 2019, no player in the National Hockey League has appeared in more games in the Stanley Cup playoffs than Pat Maroon, who's skated in 74.

In 45 games this season, the St. Louis, Missouri native has thirteen points (seven goals, six assists), 65 penalty minutes and is a plus-nine.
