In early December in a game between Washington and Anaheim, Capitals forward Tom Wilson got his stick stuck in between the glass.

Capitals fan Caroline McCain stepped up and started using her phone to hit the stick loose, which sort of worked. The good news, she knocked the stick loose. The bad news, the repeated hits to her phone ended up causing it to crack and break.

Fast forward to Wednesday night, as the Capitals hosted the Edmonton Oilers, Verizon provided Caroline with a brand-new iPhone, while the team gifted her a custom jersey as well as a signed Tom Wilson stick.

"Your All-Star effort did not go unnoticed, Caroline!

Shoutout to @Verizon for hooking her up with a new phone to go along with that custom #ALLCAPS jersey and signed Tom Wilson stick", the Capitals said in a tweet.

It's nice to see a wholesome story like this. Huge props to the Capitals and Verizon for making that happen and giving Caroline a memory she'll never forget.
