Several NHL players have spoken out recently about the NHL's COVID-19 testing policy asking for changes with the way it's done. It appears those changes are coming.

"Hearing NHL/NHLPA agreeing on no longer testing asymptomatic players and staff after All-Star," said Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman. "At that point, testing only required for cross-border travel and if a person develops symptoms."

All-Star festivities will take place on the weekend of February 5th in Las Vegas.

As mentioned, many players have called on the league to make changes after missing games due to positive tests, but feeling absolutely fine. What will be interesting is whether there is pushback from any players who believe their health may be put in jeopardy with this new policy. So far, there's been nothing on that.

Friedman also stated that a big update is coming soon to the NHL schedule. Close to 100 games were postponed in December and early January due to outbreaks with certain teams. A handful have already had new dates set, but the majority have yet to be rescheduled.
