Warning: very graphic photos of the aftermath of this incident are included at the end of this article. This includes photos of the victim's face, which are gruesome.

19-year-old Kid Andersson remains in hospital three days after an opponent made a two-handed swing of his stick directly into Andersson's face during a U20 game in Sweden. Andersson's upper jaw was broken by the opponent's stick and he's barely able to walk or talk, and can't even eat liquid food.

"I saw all the blood and then I threw up," Andersson told SportBladet via text message.

Andersson was playing in a tournament over the weekend when the incident happened during the third period of a game. Officials called off the match as he was rushed to hospital. The person who swung the stick has not been named, but Andersson's father has filed a police report. Andersson admits to splashing water on the other player from the bench during a faceoff.

"Everything happened so fast that I didn't have time to react. I didn't even know what had happened, I just saw that there was blood everywhere. Then I threw up and didn't feel well at all. I didn't know where to go,"

The opposing team has apologized to Andersson for the injuries and said the player has been suspended indefinitely.

"We regret the incident, this type of behaviour from a player is not something that we as a club support. The player in question is currently suspended from all association activities. We will during the week, the board along with the managers to talk to the player in question and the team about the incident. We await feedback and investigation from the district disciplinary committee".

While there is no video of the incident, photos have been posted to the internet. You can see those below. Again, the last two showing Andersson's face are very graphic and we urge anyone who may get queasy looking at something like this to think twice before scrolling down.
