Vladimir Gromilin, a veteran coach in Russia, is facing discipline from that country's Junior Hockey League after kicking a player who he seemingly felt was not paying attention to him on the bench. The video started circulating on the internet Thursday morning, and shows Gromilin kick 19-year-old Yegor Razumnyak.

Gromilin and Razumnyak are with Sarmaty Orenburg of the MHL, which is affiliated with the KHL.

"The MHL considers the behavior of Sarmaty head coach Vladimir Gromilin towards player Yegor Razumnyak in the match with the Tyumen Legion unacceptable," said KHL vice-president Alexander Guskov.

"We talked to the coach who, in turn, apologized for the incident. The club assured us that the episode is an exception to the rule, and it does not support such a style of communication. The league is studying all the circumstances of the episode and will report its decision afterwards," Guskov said.
