The Minnesota Wild announced on Thursday morning that they've agreed to terms on multi-year contract extensions with Head Coach Dean Evason, as well as Assistant Coaches Darby Hendrickson, Brett McLean and Bob Woods, Goaltending Coach Frederic Chabot and Video Coaches T.J. Jindra and Jonas Plum.

Evason, 57, was named Minnesota's new Head Coach in July 2020, just weeks before the Stanley Cup Playoffs were set to begin, after be named Interim Head Coach in February 2020. During the 2020-21 season, his first full season as the Wild's bench boss, he led them to a 35-16-5 record, but they would ultimately fall in seven games in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs to the Vegas Golden Knights. For his efforts, Evason was named a finalist for the Jack Adams Award.

The Wild are having a solid 2021-22 season which is in part thanks to Evason and his coaching staff. Through 30 games, they have a record of 19-9-2 (40pts), good enough for second in the Central Division, one point behind the St. Louis Blues for first place.

Minnesota will take on the aforementioned St. Louis Blues on Saturday night in the 2022 NHL Winter Classic at Target Field in Minneapolis.
