They once won a gold medal together with Team Sweden at the 2006 Olympics, now they'll provide coverage of the 2022 Games for people in their home country. Former NHL stars Henrik Lundqvist and Peter Forsberg are joining forces to cover hockey at the Winter Olympics emanating from Beijing in February.

"There is almost nothing bigger than an Olympic game," Forsberg told Expressen.se.

Forsberg covered Olympic hockey for Sweden's Discovery back in 2018. Lundqvist was still an active player with the New York Rangers at the time. After retiring, Lundqvist joined TNT's hockey coverage in the studio where he appears to be having a blast with another former NHLer, Paul Bissonnette.

"This is a real dream duo. Being able to give viewers two of our greatest ever in the same studio, with their vast experience and knowledge in ice hockey, feels fantastic," said John Witt, project manager for the Olympic broadcasts at Discovery.

Discovery promises that Forsberg and Lundqvist will be covering the event regardless of whether NHLers take part. It appears they won't be at this point.
