It appears goaltender Ben Bishop is nowhere near ready to play hockey yet. After being sent to the AHL by the Dallas Stars for a conditioning stint, Bishop has been recalled after just one game.

"Dallas Stars General Manager Jim Nill announced today that the club has recalled goaltender Ben Bishop from his conditioning assignment with the Texas Stars, Dallas' top development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL). He will remain on Dallas' Long-Term Injured Reserve," said the team in a statement.

Bishop underwent knee surgery in May of 2020 and has not played in the NHL since. His one game in the AHL did not go well. He let in 8 goals on 34 shots for a save percentage of .765.

Bishop has not played a game in the NHL for around 470 days. He has one season left on his contract after this one, with an annual cap hit of $4.9 million. You have to wonder if this might be it for Bishop. The 35-year-old was supposed to play around three games in the AHL to see where he is, but was shut down after one.
