The Los Angeles Kings played host to the Dallas Stars on Thursday, walking away with a strong 4-0 victory, out-shooting the Stars 41-27 and scoring a pair of empty net goals late to seal the deal.

While the pace of the game and the result itself would certainly have been enough to entertain Kings fans, the Kings had a special guest wired up to join the broadcast team from rinkside.

Hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg was present and seated in the corner, near the Stars' net to help provide some additional commentary, which was obviously quite entertaining.

Snoop Dogg is a massive sports fan and has attended all sorts of sporting events in the past, but I'd have to imagine that this is the first time he has ever been mic'd up for a live NHL hockey game.

If the NHL's goal is to continue to grow the game and reach new markets and target audiences, ideas like this one will certainly go a long way in doing that.
