Newly formed boxing organization Fight Night Challenge will be starting its premiere tournament in Slovakia on December 27, and fans of both boxing and hockey will have something to look forward to.
An interesting name was added to the main card on Saturday night, Marian Gaborik. The former NHL superstar will be appearing for the first time in the ring. The name of his opponent has yet to be announced, but it will surely be interesting to see Gaborik in the ring instead of on the ice.
Gaborik, who has not played hockey since 2017-18, announced his retirement in November. He ended his career with 1035 games played with 407 goals and 408 assists. He also tallied 58 points (32 goals, 26 assists) in 84 playoff tilts. He won one Stanley Cup in his career with the Los Angeles Kings in 2014 before ending his career early with the Ottawa Senators due to back problems.
