For at least the fifth time in the last two months, New Jersey Devils defenceman P.K. Subban has slew footed an opponent. The first instance came during a pre-season game against the New York Rangers, when he slew foot Ryan Reaves, which he didn't receive any discipline for.

Then a few weeks later, in a game against the Calgary Flames, he slew foot Milan Lucic, and for that one, he received a $5,000 fine. About a week later, he was fined $15,000 for a "dangerous trip" on Anaheim Ducks rookie Trevor Zegras.

Flash forward another week, and Subban ended Rangers forward Sammy Blais' season after another "dangerous trip". This time, he didn't receive any discipline.

On Friday night against the Winnipeg Jets, Subban appeared to have put his knee into the back of Nikolaj Ehlers' leg causing him to trip. Ehlers was not happy about the incident, but no penalty was called on the play.

According to Frank Seravalli of DailyFaceoff, Subban has avoided any supplemental discipline for last night's incident. Which begs the question for a lot of fans, when is the NHL's Department of Player Safety going to finally step up and suspend Subban? This is the fifth time that he has tripped someone, slew foot someone, whatever you want to call it.

To put this into context, San Jose Sharks forward Kevin Labanc was suspended one game for a slew foot back in November and he has no history of suspensions. Subban didn't receive any games for any of the five instances of slew footing this year.
