Since his rookie season in 2013-14, Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson made a name for himself as both a tough and at times dirty player.

Through his first four seasons, he was providing little to no offence for the Capitals, however that has changed in recent years. Unfortunately, due to his often over the edge play, his improvement has often been ignored by fans around the league. However, some are clearly taking notice, as Wilson confirmed on Friday that he is one of 55 players to be going through the IOC testing as part of Team Canada's long list for the upcoming 2022 Winter Olympics.

While Wilson still remains a long shot to crack the roster, it is clear that some are beginning to notice how good of a player he is. The 27-year-old is off to a great start for the Capitals this season with eight goals and 23 points in 24 games. Regardless of whether or not he is able to suit up for Team Canada, Capitals fans know just how valuable he is.
