Former NHLer Mark Barberio, now playing for Lausanne HC of Switzerland's National League, levelled Garrett Roe with a crosscheck to the chin on Sunday. Barberio, who is no stranger to controversial plays, received just a two minute minor for the play. Roe happens to be one of the best players on the ZSC Lions, and the act did not sit well with his teammates, as you can see in the video below. The last angle of the hit in the video, which comes at the very end, shows Barberio's stick catching Roe right on the side of the chin.

Following this, Lions head coach Rikard Gronberg loses it on Lausanne's coach, calling the situation "f---king embarrassing" and shouting "pieces of s--t" at the members of the team.

As mentioned, Barberio has been involved in some questionable acts before. Last April, He destroyed an opponent with a nasty elbow, and then got tossed from the game for a terrible hit on a former NHL teammate. You can see all that here..

Barberio, 31, played 272 games in the NHL with the Tampa Bay Lightning, Montreal Canadiens and Colorado Avalanche. This is his second season in Switzerland.
