In their annual Jersey Watch blog post before the 2021-22 season, Icethetics mentioned that the New Jersey Devils would finally be getting an alternate uniform for the first time in franchise history.

On Saturday, Twitter user 'GTAC13JERSEYS' leaked the photos of the New Jersey's alternate uniform on their profile. The primary colour of the uniform is black, with white stripes on the shoulders and middle of each sleeve, with a "Jersey" wordmark across the chest. Inside the collar it says "'95 '00 '03" to honour New Jersey's three Stanley Cup championships.

According to Chris Creamer of Sportslogos.net, the striping on the jersey appears to be a nod to the Newark Bulldogs, who played one season in the Can-Am League back in 1928-29.

"Considering this is a leak we don't have any official explanation for the design, but I think it's safe to say the Devils were not inspired by the Black Hawks for this instead, let's take a look at the jersey worn by another hockey team from (almost) the 1930s, the 1928-29 Newark Bulldogs," Creamer said.

It's unclear when the jersey may be officially released by the Devils, but there's a good chance that it could be very soon, in time for the holiday season.
