San Jose Sharks forward Kevin Labanc has earned himself a hearing with the NHL's Department of Player Safety on Friday following a dangerous slew-foot on Tyler Bozak along the boards during the first period of Thursday's game against the St. Louis Blues.

Labanc, who was in a puck race with Bozak, tied up the Blues forward as they approached the puck near the boards and proceeded to sweep the feet out from underneath Bozak, sending him crashing into the boards feet first. You can see the play in question below.

Bozak took exception to the trip, going right after Labanc, who had stated following the game that it was not his intent to try and injure the Blues pivot.

"It wasn't anything intentional. I didn't look at the replay of it, but I think I was just trying to battle hard," said Labanc of the play, for which he was issued a two-minute minor penalty for tripping.
