The National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced on Sunday afternoon that Nashville Predators defenceman Mark Borowiecki has not been suspended after kneeing Arizona Coyotes forward Dmitrij Jaskin.

"There will be no supplemental discipline for Mark Borowiecki. After a hearing and a review of all available angles, we have determined that Borowiecki is braced for contact and does not extend or otherwise direct his knee into Jaskin in a way that merits further discipline, " DoPS explained in a Tweet.

The incident occurred just over half-way through the first period on Saturday night. Borowiecki was given a five minute major for kneeing, a five minute major for fighting, and a game misconduct.

According to Coyotes insider Craig Morgan, Dmitrij Jaskin will reportedly miss the remainder of the season with a knee injury, although further evaluation will be needed. The Coyotes have yet to comment on Jaskin's status going forward.
