The NHL's Department of Player Safety announced on Sunday afternoon that Minnesota Wild defenceman Alex Goligoski has been fined $5,000 for high-sticking Seattle Kraken forward Jordan Eberle.

The incident occurred at the 13:42 mark of the first period of Saturday's tilt between Minnesota and Seattle. Goligoski didn't receive a penalty on the play, and he added an assist in the first period as the Wild defeated the Kraken, 4-2.

Goligoski, 36, signed a one-year contract worth $5 million with the Minnesota Wild on the opening day of free agency in July. In eleven games, the Grand Rapids, Michigan native has six assists, six penalty minutes, and is a minus-one.
