Former QMJHL player Nicolas Daigle was charged with sexual assault this summer. Daigle was just 19 years old at the time of the incident, and he was suspended indefinitely.

Since then, he has been looking for somewhere to play which has brought him to the UHL, where he has signed a contract with HC Rulav Oddr. The UHL likely sounds familiar as they were recently in the news for having problems with a player showing racist gestures towards another player.

This happened when Andrey Deniskin pretended to peel and eat a banana towards Jalen Smereck, which resulted in him being ejected from the game as well as receiving a 13 game suspension which many people believed was way too easy of a punishment for such a gross gesture.

The UHL seems to be getting the reputation of not caring about players' present or past actions, and this could be a problem for the league in the future. It seems that this would likely cause players to not want to play in the league.
