One man who has been able to keep his job but has taken a lot of flack from fans and media alike in regards to his role in the Chicago Blackhawks scandal is Kevin Cheveldayoff.

Cheveldayoff, who is now the general manager (GM) of the Winnipeg Jets, served as an assistant GM for the Blackhawks at the time Kyle Beach was sexually assaulted by former video coach Brad Aldrich. Despite being in meetings where this assault was discussed, Cheveldayoff has been able to keep his job to this point, and commissioner Gary Bettman has been on record stating there was nothing more Cheveldayoff could have done in the situation. On Tuesday, the Jets GM himself spoke with media regarding the entire situation.

«Kyle was failed by a system that should have helped him,» Cheveldayoff said. «I am sorry that my own assumptions about that system were clearly not good enough.»

Cheveldayoff also wanted on to state that he's spoken with sexual assault survivor in Sheldon Kennedy and committed to him that he would begin online training to further ensure there are no future Beach situations in the NHL moving forward. Let's hope that he is honest about wanting to make sure nothing like this happens again, because it appears at this point and time that he is going to be able to remain in his current GM position.
