The Pittsburgh Penguins, along with owner Mario Lemieux, part owner Ron Burkle, former Wilkes-Barre/Scranton head coach Clark Donatelli and former Wilkes-Barre/Scranton GM and Pens assistant GM Bill Guerin are expected to be named as the defendants in an upcoming lawsuit on Tuesday.

The plaintiff, Erin Skalde, the wife of Jarrod Skalde, formerly an assistant coach with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, alleges that she was sexually assaulted by Donatelli during a team road trip back in 2018 and that the Pittsburgh Penguins and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton GM Bill Guerin did not take the appropriate action.

Mrs. Skalde has accused Donatelli of sexually touching her against her will, both above and below the belt, in the back seat of a vehicle during a ride that she and Mr. Skalde had shared with Donatelli after he offered her husband the front seat.

Guerin, now the GM of the Minnesota Wild, claims to have learned about these allegations in 2019 and had reported it to senior management immediately. Donatelli resigned a short time later.

It is my assumption that more information will become available once the lawsuit is officially filed.
