With the results of the independent investigation now public, with Kyle Beach's identity having been revealed, it's pretty telling what the culture of the 2010 Chicago Blackhawks team was like.

Beach was just a 20-year-old with a bright future in hockey ahead of him at the time, being called up from the AHL's Rockford IceHogs to be one of the Blackhawks' "Black Aces" for their playoff run.

A former 1st round draft pick (11th overall in 2008), Beach's NHL career was derailed by, not only Brad Aldrich, a sexual predator disguised as a video coach for the Blackhawks, but also by his teammates, coaches and the executives within the organization.

According to Beach, everyone on the team knew that Aldrich had sexually assaulted him, but rather than helping him through that awful situation, his teammates had ridiculed him and targeted him with homophobic slurs. These claims were corroborated by Nick Boynton and Brent Sopel, two former NHLers who were with the Blackhawks at the time that these things were happening.

Now, another former teammate of Beach has come forward to confirm that what he is saying is entirely true, even though the players and coaches on the 2010 Blackhawks team have almost uniformly declared that they had no knowledge of the assault at that time.

Shawn Lalonde was also a Black Ace with the 2010 Blackhawks, along with Beach. On Thursday, Lalonde told Ilta-Sanomat, one of the largest newspapers in Finland, that he also believes that the entire team knew what happened to Beach, adding that now "players don't really know what to say."

Lalonde was also reportedly in contact with Jenner & Block, the team who was responsible for the independent investigation into the 2010 team.

This, of course, goes against what former Blackhawks head coach Joel Quenneville, captain Jonathan Toews and winger Patrick Kane have stated publicly.
