John Doe is ready to tell his story and let everyone know who he is. Up until now, the victim of the sexual assault scandal involving the 2010 Chicago Blackhawks has not been named publicly. That changes in a few hours.

"Tonight on @SportsCentre we're joined by John Doe, the former Blackhawks player at the centre of the team's sexual abuse scandal," said TSN's Rick Westhead on Twitter. "He has asked us to reveal his identity and you will hear him speak his truth. It's a privilege to offer a platform to someone with such courage."

According to Westhead, the interview with air on the 6 PM ET edition of SportsCentre.

An independent investigation into the allegations against former Chicago video coach Brad Aldrich stated the team mishandled the situation and attempted to sweep it under the rug. The Hawks have been fined $2 million by the NHL, while GM Stan Bowman and Senior Vice-President Al MacIsaac have resigned from the team. NHL commissioner Gary Bettman will be meeting with former Chicago coach Joel Quenneville and former assistant GM Kevin Cheveldayoff in the coming days. Quenneville is the current coach of the Florida Panthers while Cheveldayoff is the GM for the Winnipeg Jets. Both have denied having any prior knowledge of the assault, although the independent investigation disputes those claims.

Many have speculated on the identity of the player on social media saying details included in the report makes it easy to identify him. We'll wait and let him do it on his own.
