Analyst comments on the possibility of a coaching change in Chicago
Despite starting the season 0-5-1 and not holding a lead in any of their six games, the Chicago Blackhawks are not expected to make a coaching change, according to ESPN's Emily Kaplan.
Kaplan was on ESPN's podcast 'In The Crease' on Monday and said that Blackhawks president and general manager Stan Bowman loves having Jeremy Colliton has head coach and doesn't feel that there is a need to fire him. She added that if any changes are made, they will come from the ownership group.
Since taking over for Joel Quenneville early in the 2018-19 season, Colliton has a record of 86-88-25 in 199 career games coached.
Even though it's been a rough start in Chicago, the players stand behind their coach, including defenceman Seth Jones who had this to say on Monday:
"100% this team has faith in Jeremy," Jones said. "I've been here a short time but his message has been great for us. This isn't a coaching problem. This is a locker room thing, the players on the ice playing the game."
The Blackhawks will look to rebound and win their first game of the season on Wednesday night when they host another struggling team, the Toronto Maple Leafs.
