In a year that many believed the Chicago Blackhawks would show improvement after major changes in the offseason, the team finds itself dead last in the NHL after six games and has yet to get a win this season. The Hawks haven't held a lead in a game for 360 minutes and 57 seconds so far, the longest such streak in the league since the 1979-80 season. Following yet another loss last night, this time to the Detroit Red Wings, the players seemed lost.

"It's a horrible feeling," said Jonathan Toews, although he insisted the solution to the issue is in the locker room.

It was noted that both coach and players were late for the usual post-game news conference, leading some to believe that perhaps a players only meeting had taken place after the loss. Meanwhile, a strange incident was noted during the game when the Hawks decided to call a timeout in the third period. Instead of the coach drawing up a play on his whiteboard, which often happens in the league, Jeremy Colliton handed the board over to the players, who drew up something themselves.

Many fans are calling for Colliton to be fired, saying he doesn't have what it takes to lead the team to success. So far, there's no indication that's going to happen. However, that doesn't mean it won't. It's worth noting that last night's game in Chicago was the first since 2008 that wasn't sold out. If fans show their displeasure this way, management may have no choice but to listen.
