Ilves, a club in Finland's top division Liiga, announced on Tuesday that they have mutually agreed to terminate the contract of Detroit Red Wings prospect, Albin Grewe. Grewe signed a one-year contract with Ilves in the spring, with an option for a second year, but after only four games with the Finnish club, they've both decided to go their separate ways for unknown reasons.

"We would like to thank Albin for the work he did for Ilves and wish him luck in the new challenges," said Ilves' Sports Director Timo Koskela.

The Marsta, Sweden native was drafted in the third round, 66th overall by the Red Wings in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. Grewe has yet to sign his entry-level contract with Detroit, but spent part of the 2020-21 season with their AHL affiliate, the Grand Rapids Griffins, where he has two assists in eleven games, along with six penalty minutes.
