During a media availability earlier in the week, Washington Capitals forward T.J. Oshie was repeatedly asked about the possibility of playing center for the 2021-22 season.

Oshie, 34, decided to have some fun with the reporters, saying that he would instead prefer to play on the blue line, and has wanted to for some time.

"I've been asking for 14 years to play D for one game," Oshie said. "No one will let me."

During his six seasons with the Capitals, Oshie has played primarily on the right wing. However, despite head coach Peter Laviolette saying he would prefer to keep him at wing this upcoming season, he also said there will be multiple players swapped between the wings and center positions at camp, making it seem like he is still unsure himself. Regardless of where he plays, he should continue to produce solid offensive numbers for the Capitals. In 53 games last season, he scored 22 goals and 43 points.
