The NHL warned players that it was planning to crackdown on crosschecking in the 2021-22 season, and it looks like it's doing just that. Ottawa Senators prospect Ridly Grieg was tossed from a preseason game against the Winnipeg Jets Sunday after a blatant crosscheck to the face of Pierre-Luc Dubois. Check it out:

Greig received a five-minute major, as well as the game misconduct. Following the game. Dubois told reporters he required 15 stitches in his chin, but he remained in the contest and scored a goal. He also stated he didn't really know Grieg but didn't think he meant to hurt him on the play. Dubois said he was just ecstatic to be back in front of fans.

"It hurts to smile but I would if I could," he said.
