I'm not sure this one was intentional, but under no circumstances in any professional league is it ok to punch a referee in the face. Evgeny Timkin, a forward with SKA St. Petersburg of the KHL, initially received a game misconduct after hitting a referee with a punch during a scrum as his team took on Dinamo Minsk. Check it out:

The KHL has now suspended Timkin for three games.

Timkin, 31, has spent most of his entire professional career in the KHL. He did spend a season split between the ECHL and the now defunct Central Hockey League (CHL) early in his career. He was never drafted by an NHL team.
