The St. Louis Blues and general manager Doug Armstrong have reportedly reached an agreement on a multi-year contract extension, keeping the 56-year-old in St. Louis for the foreseeable future.

Prior to reaching the agreement, Armstrong had just one season remaining on his current contract, with the Blues organization having an option to retain him for next season as well.

Armstrong had originally joined the Blues back in May of 2008, after spending the previous 6 seasons as the GM of the Dallas Stars.

The Sarnia, Ontario native won GM of the Year honors with the Blues in 2013 and was 2nd in voting for the same award in 2019, after winning the Stanley Cup.

The St. Louis Blues will be holding a press conference at 5 p.m. when they are expected to make the official announcement.
