The opening day of training camp can be a tough experience for the best of Athletes. After taking a break (relatively speaking) over the summer, a lot of coaches will push their teams to the limit on opening day, and it ends in extreme exhaustion and even throwing up for some players. Vancouver's Olli Juolevi had a particularly hard time on his opening day. So much so that teammate J.T. Miller spoke to management to ask if it might have been more than just exhaustion.

According to Is.fi, Juolevi dealt with a severe case of COVID-19 last spring. Canucks coach Travis Green said he lost 10 to 15 pounds as a result.

There is some speculation online that Juolevi's poor condition may cost him a spot on the team when the regular season rolls around. He's a former fifth overall draft pick (2016) and Vancouver certainly had high hopes for the defenceman. So far, he's played just 23 games in the NHL, all of them coming last season. The 23-year-old had two goals and an assist.
