This is the season for professional tryouts and a couple of former Buffalo Sabres have received PTOs from two different teams. According to CapFriendly, Scott Wilson will attend training camp with the Seattle Kraken in the hopes of landing a contract, while Tobias Rieder will join the Anaheim Ducks.

Wilson has bounced back and forth between the NHL and AHL throughout his career. Besides Buffalo, the 29-year-old forward has also suited up for Pittsburgh and Detroit. He's played a total of 193 NHL games, recording 20 goals and 51 points.

Rieder was drafted by the Edmonton Oilers in 2011, but started his NHL career with the Arizona Coyotes before landing with the LA Kings, then Edmonton, Calgary and finally the Sabres last season. The 28-year-old forward played in 44 games with Buffalo in 2020-21, recording five goals and seven points. He's played a total of 478 NHL games, recording 145 points in total (64 G, 81 A).

Players that have signed a PTO must either sign with the team out of training camp, or wait until they are released in order to strike a deal with another team.
