Evander Kane of the San Jose Sharks, who has found himself dealing with controversy after controversy over the last few months, is finally telling his side of the story. ESPN's Linda Cohn made the announcement late Wednesday night.

"I sat down with NHL superstar @evanderkane_9 of the @SanJoseSharks to talk about his recent issues off the ice, including accusations of gambling on his own games," said Cohn on Twitter. "This must see interview airs TOMORROW (Thursday) at 1:40pm ET on @SportsCenter on @espn."

Kane filed for bankruptcy back in January to apparently shield himself from creditors seeking repayment of debts. Many of those debts were related to gambling, something Kane has not denied. However, his estranged ex-wife Anna made some serious allegations throughout the summer, claiming Kane was betting on his own games, failing to provide for their infant daughter and partying constantly. Kane has denied all of those allegations. There have also been rumours that his teammates with the San Jose Sharks are fed up with the constant circus surrounding Kane and want him out.

Regardless of Kane's off-ice behaviour, he had one of his best seasons on the ice in 2020-21, recording 22 goals and 49 points over 56 games. If he had kept on that pace over an 82 game season, Kane would have ended up somewhere around 72 points, which would have been his best season in the league by a significant margin.
