It appears the NHL's investigation into Evander Kane of the San Jose Sharks has stalled. That's according to Front Office Sports, which says the outside investigators hired by the NHL to determine whether Kane gambled on games he was involved in have been unable to interview his ex-wife Anna, the person who made the allegations.

That said, Front Office Sports is also reporting that the investigation so far has shown no abnormalities on betting trends for the Sharks last season. In divorce court documents filed in July, Kane denied the allegations of his ex-wife.

"These allegations are completely false. If these allegations were true, they would destroy my career," Kane wrote in a filing.

Kane sought a court order to stop his his ex from posting about him on social media after a recent tirade that included the gambling allegations, as well as accusations of cheating and not properly providing for his infant daughter. That request was denied based on First Amendment grounds (freedom of speech).

Kane filed for bankruptcy earlier this year and those documents showed he allegedly owes gambling debts to several creditors that he has yet to pay back. After the allegations of gambling on his own games from Anna, the NHL immediately said an investigation would be launched. His ex has been very quiet on social media since making the accusations.
