The Pittsburgh Penguins will have a couple of veteran faces in town when training camp opens, as the team has announced professional try-outs for both Brian Boyle and Matt Bartkowski on Friday evening.

Boyle, 36, is a journeyman forward who has spent time with seven different NHL franchises (the Kings, Rangers, Lightning, Leafs, Devils, Predators and Panthers) over a 13-year career, amassing 130 goals and 231 points across 805 regular season games. He also has a penchant for playing with an edge and certainly doesn't shy away from the dirty areas - and will answer the bell when called upon.

Bartkowski, 33, is a hometown boy, born and raised in Pittsburgh, who is certainly thrilled to get an opportunity to try and gut it out in camp for the opportunity to play in front of his family and friends on a more regular basis.

Bartkowski has suited up in 256 career regular season NHL games, splitting time between the Boston Bruins, Vancouver Canucks, Calgary Flames and Minnesota Wild, though he only appeared in 3 games for the Wild over the past 3 seasons. He was never really known for his scoring prowess, managing just 48 points during parts of his 11 NHL seasons.
