Prust, 37, has made it clear for some time now that he is a Donald Trump supporter, and has also been very vocal in his displeasure with COVID-19 lockdowns. While some don't agree with his sentiments, he is simply voicing his opinion which we all have a right to do. However, he has had some moments where he has crossed the line, and on Wednesday afternoon he did just that when replying to a lady on Twitter, something that he likely regrets now. The argument began with Prust tweeting out the following on Tuesday night:
"I'm going to be on the road tomorrow driving. If I see anyone else on the road I will lose it," Prust wrote. "Also everyone take their vitamins tomorrow because mine won't work if you don't take (yours)."
This drew the ire of many, including one lady who sarcastically replied – "Thanks in advance for driving safe" -- , something which Prust didn't seem very amused by.
"So that means they can force me to do anything they want? I hope they force u into the sex trade so you can finally get laid you sheep I paid more taxes for these roads than you could ever dream of money in ur account. U deserve to stay in your basement. I don't."
This comment quickly spread around, forcing the former NHLer to tweet out an apology this morning.
"I would like to apologize to the lady I replied to," Prust wrote. "She deleted her tweet so can't find her. My intention was not to offend anyone, it was a bad joke. I apologize for my bad choice of words. I don't hope the government forces anyone into the sex trade!"
It is worth noting that Prust has had several controversial tweets over the years, though this was the first one he has apologized for. Whether he takes a step back from social media or not remains to be seen, but it is clear that even he realized he crossed the line on this one.
