The bad luck for the Buffalo Sabres continues. With starting goaltender Linus Ullmark already on the sidelines with an injury, the team has now lost Carter Hutton following a terrible looking collision with Julien Gauthier. It looks possible that Gauthier was pushed into him by Buffalo blueliner Rasmus Ristolainen.

For fans of somewhat obscure names, Dustin Tokarski has taken over in net for the Sabres, his first time in an NHL crease during a game since October, 2016. Tokarski is a former member of the Montreal Canadiens, Anaheim Ducks and Tampa Lightning, although it was with the Habs that he saw the most action, playing 20 of his 34 NHL regular season games with Montreal. The Sabes recently traded netminder Jonas Johansson to the Colorado Avalanche for a sixth-round pick.
