The Chicago Blackhawks continue to roll, with a 13-8-5 record through 26 games this season, despite not having a number of players in the lineup, including captain Jonathan Toews, the recently retired Brent Seabrook and young phenom Kirby Dach.

While we now know that Seabrook's career is over due to injury, and there's no information on Toews' condition, the Hawks do have some good news on Dach, who was a participant in practice on Monday for the first time since suffering his gruesome wrist injury at the 2021 World Junior Championship tournament.

While it's not exactly known when Dach will officially slot back into the Hawks' lineup, it cannot be far off, as Dach will be joining the team on their upcoming six-game road trip to continue to work towards a return with the team.

"We'll take him, just so we can keep skating him," Blackhawks head coach Jeremy Colliton said. "Whenever we can we'll get him with the group, whether that's with the taxi squad or full group. Obviously, it's another step for him to be joining the team in some way, but he still has a way to go.

"A lot of it is just time," Colliton said of Dach's time on the shelf after undergoing surgery at the end of December. "He's going to look like he's ready to play and we're still going to hold him out, probably, to be smart. He's definitely moving through here and it's a positive for everyone."

Dach was originally expected to take a huge leap forward for the Blackhawks this season after scoring 8 goals and 23 points in 64 games during the 2019-20 regular season and producing at a much higher clip in the postseason with 6 points in 9 games in the Edmonton-based Western Conference bubble.

Dach broke his right wrist during the pre-tournament round of the 2021 WJC tournament. His original timeline for return was 4-5 months, so he certainly looks to be ahead of schedule.
