It is being reported by TSN's Pierre LeBrun that Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson will not appeal the 7-game suspension that he received from the NHL's Department of Player Safety on Saturday.

Wilson was the recipient of an in-person hearing with Player Safety, which took place on Saturday evening, due to a questionable hit on Boston Bruins defenseman Brandon Carlo during Friday's meeting between the Bruins and the Caps in Boston.

Carlo was able to skate off the ice with the help of the Bruins' training staff, but did need to be admitted to hospital for further observations. He was released on Saturday morning.

On Sunday, Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy told the media that while no official update on Carlo's condition was available, he would "be out for a while".

Wilson will not be eligible to return to the Caps' lineup until Saturday, March 20th, in the 2nd half of a back-to-back against the visiting New York Rangers.

This is the fifth suspension Wilson has been issued by Player Safety in his NHL career.
