Canadian netminder and former Atlanta Thrashers draft pick Eddie Pasquale is making waves in the KHL for Lokomotiv Yaroslavl, as he has kicked off the postseason with back-to-back shutouts over Jokerit Helsinki to take an early 2-0 series lead.

Pasquale, 30, had spent most of his career bouncing around the AHL, with a pair of brief stints in the ECHL in 2010-11 and 2015-16, but did enjoy a 3-game cup of coffee with the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2018-19, posting a 2-1-0 record, with otherwise forgettable and very pedestrian peripheral stats.

The Toronto, Ontario native departed North America for the KHL in 2019-20, signing with Astana Barys and had an impressive debut season, posting a 24-18-1 record, with a .930 SV% and a 2.03 GAA in 46 appearances.

His success had carried over to Lokomotiv this season, as Pasquale appeared in 41 games, amassing a 25-11-3 record, with a .925 SV% and a 1.91 GAA.

Pasquale has stopped all 52 shots he has faced thus far in the postseason for Yaroslavl. Talk about making an immediate impact overseas. Given Pasquale's impressive run in Europe, it will be interesting to see whether or not he can make a return to North America in pursuit of a similar level of success on his home soil, possibly as soon as next season.
